Hey!!
Well last week sounded both rough and fun, haha! I'm glad you are all feeling a little better at least though... I feel like everyone is getting sick at these times.
This week was for sure a week of miracles. Like everything good that could have happened did!! I am still amazed. So I apologize in advance for the large message...
Ok, to start out. First off, the Juarez family! So we have been working with them for a bit, and their last name is Ceron... so rip. I still call them the Juarez kids though, haha! But this week in church was the primary program, so Naomi and Tabatha had a part in from of the congregation. So we really wanted their dad there so he could see how much they have grown and that they are good kids. And he came!!! It was his first time at church, and it was awesome! He enjoyed it, so hopefully we can help the kids get a baptismal date soon, so they can keep progressing and becoming more like Christ!
Second person. Gael. We have been working with him kinda on and off. He wants to be baptized, but can't be baptized till he is adopted, because he is a foster kid to members right now. But we just got the news that he is getting adopted at the beginning of December! So not only are they going to be a family, but Gael also wants to be baptized, so we set a date for later in December! We are very excited for him.
Next family, Laura and Clemente. We'll talk about Laura first. So we have been wanting her husband to join us as well, because Laura really wants to go to church as a family to all help each other. So she invited Jose, her husband, to sit with us during a lesson and he did!! That is a big step for him! I can tell he loves her a lot. So he isn't super open right now, but with time I think he will accept the gospel! But this was a big step! He didn't come to church, but the next day Laura and her kids all went. So it was Her, Clemente, and Miros. We were super happy to have them there. and they stayed for the second hour as well, for the first time. Miros loved primary! but also it was the party after the primary program, so what's not to love? We are super excited about Laura and her family though.
So now for Clemente. He was baptized in Mexico about a year ago, but kinda fell away for a bit. But now he is working harder and studying more and is truly excited about everything!! He actually went tracting with us on Friday as well. It was a super fun experience! Clemente is probably one of my favorite people. Someone to definitely stay in contact with after my mission. But this was his first time ever tracting, or knocking on doors. So before we went up to the first door, he was like, "wait a second. I have to take this in. This is the first door I am knocking." So he took like a few seconds and then was like, let's go! It was super funny. And every time we would knock on a door he would be like "corre!" ("run!") He is hilarious.
We also found some more awesome people this week. One couple we knocked into, but she had been coming to our English class. We were able to teach them, and the spirit was there! The husband was super excited and they are awesome!
But probably the biggest miracle was Arnold. We got a call from the mission office to go pick up some scriptures from this lady to give to her divorced husband, so we went by and did that. we ended up talking to her son, Arnold, and he is way cool! He has read the bible many times and loves it. but he also loves to learn about other churches, so he invited us back the next day. We went back the next day, and talked about the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We explained that Christ built his perfect church on the earth, but people rejected him so it was not there for a bit. and eventually God reached out again and restored his church through Joseph Smith. And how the Book of Mormon is an evidence of this. He had read part of the Book of Mormon in the past, and said he got more out of the Book of Mormon than the bible. He also said that he already prayed to ask God if it was true and he said he knew it was, so we invited him to be baptized and he said yes!! It was truly a huge miracle. He was so ready and prepared and it makes me so happy to be able to help these people find that added peace and happiness.
So, yeah, it was a pretty good week! LOTS of miracles. Like I am blown away all this happened in a week. But it shows that God has work to do, we just have to be patience sometimes. But it is all worth it in the end!!Colusa is getting somewhere for sure.
Thanks for writing me! I'll talk to you next week!
