Week 7 Colusa CA

Hey mom!

Well we had another transfer! So Hermana Orton is with me now! She is from Utah, of course. But we have been working hard and enjoying the nice cool weather. 88 with a breeze has never felt so good :) This week we did lots of service though which was nice with that weather! and it makes it easier to bike for sure!

But the big thing of the week was that Elder Bednar came to the mission!! We had a mission wide conference which was super awesome! I got to see some people I hadn't seen in almost a year, so that was super exciting!! There are so many new sisters though, that I feel like I don't know so many of them... I guess I just know more of the elders now, but that's fine cause they're all cool!

But Elder Bednar was awesome!! I had 2 major take aways from the conference. the first was that I need to learn how to teach others to learn. Because I cannot always be with the people I am teaching. and to help them have a deeper conversion, they need to be able to do things for themselves. it is completely different way of teaching. it isn't anything written or script or something you can really study. It's following the spirit and tayloring it to every person's needs. and having the knowledge to help them be able to answer their own questions.

My other big take away was that I need to come up with more questions. A lot of people go to the scriptures to find answers, but he said go to the scriptures to find questions!! because the way I have been able to really grow is through questions. it pushes me to learn and really understand different principles. so it was a good conference :)

One last thing... I found a song I LOVE by for king and country. it is sooooo good. i have listened to it on repeat for like 4 days. hopefully Hermana Orton doesn't hate me for it! Jk, but for realsies it is so good. It talks about letting our love be the proof of God's love. Because without love, we really are nothing. so that's another thing I can work on this week. more love for everyone :)
