Week 6 Colusa CA

Hey mom!!

Transfers were this weekend, and we found out Hermana Andrew is leaving :( We were super sad to get this news... only 6 weeks together!! We had a lot of fun and did a lot of good work, so it's sad she has to leave... my new companion will be good too though! Her name is Hermana Orton, and she is also from Utah (like all my companions... haha!) but it was a good transfer and another good one to come! Hopefully it'll cool off a bit, haha.

But before we found out about transfers, there was a lot of good that happened! We had lots of good lessons with the people we are teaching which is always a fun time. We had quite a few jam sessions to Nashville Tribute while hanging around the house at night! and LOTS of service this week!! We pulled cornstalks out of the ground! It was very satisfying. ike weeding, but it actually looks like it makes a difference, haha! And we got a super yummy home grown honeydew which was probably the best honeydew I have ever tasted.

The most exciting part of the week is that Jared accepted a baptismal date!! We haven't even known him for 6 weeks yet, but he realizes the importance of this message! He has seen the difference going to church makes in his life and has enjoyed reading the Book of Mormon! It is great. he is great. And all that hard work of Hermana Andrew and I was finally paid back a bit! Something cool about that though is that he wants to get baptized in a river, so we are going to see if we can figure that out! stay tuned for more on that :) But September 7 will be a good day!

On a less exciting note, apparently 40 year old men have a thing for me... there were 2 different guys who we were working with be weird... one guy asked if I had a boyfriend and told me he liked me, and I was like, uhhhhhh no. And then the other guy we have been working with for a bit and he friended me on facebook and started messaging me. Nice... shut those both down REAL fast. So I'm just gonna wear a potato sack for the rest of forever.

But that was the week. Still warm, but not too bad. Next week Elder Bednar is coming to talk to us and I am super excited!! He is talking to the whole mission, which never happens... so it makes me wonder if they are gonna tell us something. I guess we'll find out!

But I love to hear from you! Summer is closing here an kids go back to school next week! So I hope you get to enjoy the rest of your summer!! Love and miss you!!
