Hey mom!!
Another fun week here in Colusa! Lots of good all around!!
First off it's been pretty cool here, like 85 at nights and 95 during the day. All things considered, that is pretty good. I'm getting a killer tan. Mostly just on my forearms... but my shoe tan is also starting to come in nicely. it makes me excited cause I know I'm actually just a white girl that is a little less white... but hey the little wins!
A big art of this week was we did lots of service! Some of which was done with a part member family! They own an apricot orchard, and they make their own apricot jam and pie. So we went over 2 times this week and helped them out with that! People come from all over the west coast too get their apricots and jams and pies, so it was fun to do! And fun to eat as well! Cause you always gotta try it. But really the BEST apricot pie ever!! And the jam was real good too! we also tried some apricot jam with habenero (idk how to spell that) peppers and it was way good! but now i know how too make some yummy jam and pies :)
We as went on an exchange! Hermana Andrew went to Yuba City, so I had Sister Manning and Sister Painter with me! we had a lot of fun! They are both newer to the mission, so it was fun to be able to help guide them a bit! But Sister Painter is waiting for a visa to go to France for her mission, so she speaks french! We were a tri-lingual companionship! It was a fun time for sure! They are great missionaries and we ha some good laughs!
Fourth of July was also this week! and so to celebrate, we had to be in early... at 7. It was weird. and we had to be in our house, not just at our house. so we just listened to the firework show... it sounded cool though! We celebrated on the inside with some pina coladas!! Homemade!! It was a fun night with Hermana Andrew!
Our lessons this week were also good! I still LOVE the Juarez family, but what's new. They are just so good and excited and sweet! It really feels like family when I go over there!and I think i love that I get to teach them all in Spanish. Usually kids you teach in English, but we teach these kids in Spanish and I love it! They are so cute and so sweet and I know I already said that but it's true :)
I have found I love to teach!! I love sharing this knowledge that I have!! The knowledge of Christ and that it is possible to be made new through him and that we can continue to improve as we have faith in him. But while I love to teach, the goal is to help them be baptized!! I just want that for everyone!! Baptism is a small thing we can do so that God can pour out more blessings on us! and i just want that for all these people cause i love them so much :)
But one last thing for the week... I LEARNED HOW TO MAKE SNOW!!!!! Like real snow!! so I can now say that I saw snow in California. I made a snowball and it was great. It was kinda an accident, but hey it worked out for the better. It's amazing what ice and a blender can do!
Well I am still loving it down here in Colusa! Hermana Andrew and I are great friends and we spend majority of the time laughing and it's great! It's fun to be with a good friend for 24/7 :)
I hoe you have a great week! can't wait to hear about all the adventures! Love you!!! miss you!!
