Hey mom!!
I am proud to be your favorite missionary!! Hermana Hayes asked tho if she could be your second favorite.
This week was a little different. Hermana Hayes got sick for a few days, so we stayed inside the house for TWO AND A HALF DAYS AND WOW IT WAS HARD! I haven't not left the house in 10 months till then. It was crazy. I was doing everything to try and keep myself from being bored. Like, everything. I read the scriptures SO MUCH!! I think I read for about 3-4 hours straight Wednesday and Thursday. I guess I'll just get extra blessings for being extra spiritually fed right? I also deep cleaned the kitchen. Like, that place has never looked better! I cleaned and organized the cupboards, all the Tupperware has matches, all old things that have been left here before I got here is gone. I also attempted to clean out the underneath of the sink, but it still smells like death... hopefully the baking soda takes it away... and I wiped out the fridge and wow it looked GREAT! I found a popcorn machine!! I also built a fort one day when Hermana Hayes was napping and then I made her watch the restoration movie (the only movie we can watch) to keep he awake for a bit. I made a lot of food. Like good meals 3 times a day. I tried to paint my nails (failed at that, haha) and played a card game by myself. But luckily I was able to keep myself busy enough! Also lots of snacks. that always helps.
But something really exciting that happened was Hermana Eppich came to visit the Mission! Which means that I got to see her!!! It was so awesome! She showed up to the house to surprise me and it was so fun to see her again! She also bought me a big 'ol cup of ice from pilot!! What a real homie... but that was super exciting to see her.
But we did get out a few days this week! We got to keep visiting some of our friends like Kristina, Tranquilino, Natasha, and Carlos. We did not get the chance to see Rodlfo, Angelica, or Ana. But we will be able to see them this week! We also have zone conference this week, so we will get to see other friends which will be fun! We also have a baptism this week which is exciting! Natasha is getting baptized on Sunday! So a very busy week, but I wouldn't want it any other way!
A spiritual experience for the week... So I have been feeling like I have gotten too comfortable with where I am at. Between the place and I know what I am doing and I am comfortable with my companion. So it's good, but also if I am comfortable, then I am not improving. So I have been looking for a way to improve. In a study during the week, I was reading about the sacrament and how it is a covenant that we make, kinda like we make in the temple. And I have been missing the temple. But i realized that the sacrament can be just as spiritual of an experience as the temple. So on Sunday during the sacrament, I tried to really hard focus and feel the spirit. It was an awesome experience and I was able to feel my Savior's love.
also, we had a lesson last night with Carlos and i thought it went really well! We had a member there and it was great! But then the member called us this morning and was like "you guys should do lessons some other time and not on the weekend, cause he was drunk..." so apparently I am really bad at telling if Spanish people are drunk... so we will have to see about that... probably won't be going back unless we have our good buddy Miguel with us to help out. so that was a fun adventure.
But it was an interesting week! Thanks for writing me! I love to hear about your life! Mucho amor y te extraño!
