Hey momma!!
I really have no idea how it is already so late in April. I feel like it just started, but I guess not...
But it was another awesome busy week! To start, last Tuesday we had exchanges, so Hermana Orton, Hermana Hayes' old companion, came up to Chico! It was fun to e with her for a day and help her out! He had some good times. I accidentally set a noodle on fire in the church, but it's ok there was not a huge fire. I got it out.
We also had MLC this week! That was also super fun! I love MLC bacause I get to see my friends and I get to learn how I can better help my zone! I feel like I got more out of this MLC than I usually do, so that was good! I think maybe I am also just getting use to being a Sister Training Leader. It really has been a great opportunity to serve the other missionaries around me and I love it! Also though, I was asked to lead the music, so I got up to stand in front. Then while I was trying to get out, my chair fell and I almost fell, and wow it was a struggle bus... but hey we made it out and without any bruises!
Other fun things that happened this week...
It was in the mid 80s multiple times this week. get ready for summer... hopefully I can work on my watch tan.
We had a lesson with Tranquilino and he is still super awesome! He is just the cutest little old man. We talked all about prayer and the importance of prayer and helped him understand why we pray, to talk with our Heavenly Father. But that was awesome!
We also set a baptismal date for Kristina! She is in the English ward we are covering, but she is super awesome! She is excited to take this step and become closer to Christ! SO we are working toward that as well :)
And finally, my favorite part of the week was Carlos! Yesterday we were doing some finding in Hamilton City and talking to everyone on the street. It was kind of discouraging though, because no one was super interested. There were people who would listen, but not people who wanted to change. So in my head I was praying to find someone like that. So we decided to go visit someone we found 2 weeks back who did not answer for the return appointment, and he was there! We got there and he asked if we could read the scriptures about Easter. so we did, and soon found out that he had troubles reading. So we showed him gospel library and he was super excited! (Side note, last time we were there he recorded me reading and we were un poco creeped out, but turns out he just wanted to listen to it again cause he couldn't read!) He then shared his desires to change. He had thought about this for a while, but didn't know how. He said that when he saw us and when we read the scriptures with him, he felt good and he felt like he wants more of that in his life. It was SO awesome! He was the one who truly had that desire to change! And at the end, we taught him how to pray and invited him to pray. It was honestly the sweetest prayer I have ever heard! He spoke from the heart and you could feel the spirit so strong. And at the end he forgot how to end it so he was like, "pues, adios." It was so awesome! But he was an answer to my prayer, and a testimony builder that there ARE people out there who are ready and willing to accept the gosple and to change their lives in order to have that peace, love, and spirit in their lives!
But it was a super awesome week! I love ALL the people here so much! God's hand is in our lives, and he is helping to guide us to where we need to go! Love you and miss you!! have a great week!
