Week 19 Chico/Orland CA

Hey mom!!

This week flew by! And there was quite a bit of traveling as well!!

Tuesday Hermana Carter and I headed down to Colusa to send her off to Citrus Heights. It was sad to see her go, but I knew she would have fun down there! And then for the rest of that day and that Wednesday, I was in Colusa with Hermana Rich and Hermana Wiser!! It was a fun time. I love those two hermanas! We might have gotten a little distracted at times, but we got some good missionary work done as well. I also cut Hermana Rich's hair. So if you know anyone that needs a haircut, tell them Hermana Atkinson can do it!

But then the next day we traveled down to Roseville to pick up our new missionaries!! My new missionary's name is Hermana Hayes!! She is from Bountiful, Utah. She is super awesome. As we were talking, we realized that we have SO much in common, it's kinda crazy! But she is super friendly and fun to talk to and she is already a great missionary!! She loves the work and the people, and she has only been out for a few days! She is a hard worker and helps push me to be better! It will be a fun next 3 months with Hermana Hayes :)

But when we got back to Orland Thursday, we hit the ground running! We had a lesson that night about the Word of Wisdom, in Spanish, and she did great! We had district council and got to know the other new missionaries that came into the district. We got to find some new people and Hermana Hayes was super stoked about that! I liked to see how happy she was to help others! And I liked that I got to play basketball with them for a bit, haha! (I was on fire. no biggie) It always blows people away when the girl in the flower dress can shoot. But that was fun!

We also had dinner with Rodolfo and Angelica and oh my gosh they are my FAVORITE!! We had sopes and they were so yummy and i just love them. They said that after my mission we could take a trip to Mexico together, so you better believe that I will be doing that! They are so awesome and I just can't even explain :)

This weekend was also General Conference! That was super awesome! Especially when President Nelson went up to speak and gave us a shout out! Yeah Chico Stake! We're basically famous. But his talk was really good. It was exactly what some of the people we are teaching needed to hear, so that was really awesome. But this whole conference kinda felt like they were telling us to do better. There are a lot of little adjustments that we can do to mejorarnos (improve ourselves) and become more like Christ. There were also a lot of talks about missionary work, which being a missionary I loved. But conference was really good! I really enjoyed it! It made me want to rededicate myself and my actions and all I do to Christ. It is in him and through him that we can do anything, but we just have to make that effort and align our will with God's.

But it was an awesome week! Next week we have a baptism, and interviews with President Ward, so it will be a busy one, but a good one! I hope you have a great week! Love and Miss you!
