Week 6 Chico/Orland CA

Hey mom!!

Sorry I always write so late... I need to get better at doing it earlier so it's not rushed...  but I love hearing from you!!

And I'm glad to hear you liked the come follow me program!! I like it too!! It's a little different cause I don't get to study with my family, but we'll try to help other families do it. I really enjoyed the Sunday school we had with it though! And that's cute what Lathen said :)

And I did get your letter! Thank you!! They will be appreciated. And gracias to grandma and grandpa for the Christmas money :) I also got the hymn book!!

But HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I can't believe that new year's eve was a week ago... but it was a good time! We had to be in our houses at 7, so we basically just hung out with sister Abbott and sister Howell and it was a great time! One of the members in the ward in Orland brought us some pizza and martinellis and noise makers! It was super sweet of her! And it made for a fun night! We basically just played card games and then went to bed at 10:30(ish). It was weird to go to bed early, but honestly I was so tired. Apparently I slept through gun shots going off outside to celebrate. But it was a good new year's eve!

Something funny that happened this week was we continued the prank war between the other sisters and us. Sister Abbot and Sister Howell decided to take all our plates and forks and hide them around the house. There were forks on the ceiling, in shoes, in dress drawers and plates in the bed. It was pretty funny. But then hermana Carter and I had to think of a good idea to get them back. So we decided to sneak into their house when they weren't home, and we took all the lightbulbs out and put them in a pile in their front room. It was pretty good. We even took out the light in the fridge haha! I'll keep you posted on anything else we do >:)

We got to visit Rodolfo and Angélica this week too!! I love them so much! They're my buddies from Caldwell, ID!! But they are so sweet and I just love them! And they are doing well! They are excited to grow their testimonies and enjoy coming to church! They're so awesome! They're also gonna help me fix a dress I ripped, whoops...

Along the lines of Idaho tho, i also met someone who is a Boise state fan out here!! I was super hype for that. And it's for no real reason, they just like Boise state. So I got real excited and he started talking about how awesome the fiesta bowl against Oklahoma was, and I was like "I know right??" But yeah that was super exciting!! The same person also gave us some pretty chunky rings... very blingy, and not very missionary appropriate...  but they look pretty exciting! I'll send a picture of it.

This week we also had zone conference. That was a fun time! It's always fun to see other missionaries and the other Spanish sisters! But also we got a lot of good ways that we can improve our efforts as missionaries in relation to our areas. So I'm excited to apply all those things we learned! We also went out to dinner with the hermanas in Gridley, so that was fun! We got some yummy teriyaki! :)

Also on the lines of food, COOKING IS SO FUN!!! Hermana Carter and I whip up some good stuff. Like yesterday we had some mashed potatoes and grilled chicken (on our new George Foreman grill the mission gave us, along with a crockpot!). It was way good. And you better believe we are making office jokes about the George foreman grill, haha! (@Michaelscott when he burnt his foot taking bacon in the morning hahahaha) but ita a good time. I'll be a master chef by the time I get back.

Sorry, this letter is kinda all over the place, but that's just kinda how it is right now. So to add to it, transfer boards came out yesterday! Hermana Carter and I are staying together, as expected, so that'll be fun! We're getting a groove on this place and it's a good time! However Sister Howell will be leaving... so that's sad. But we'll just have a new neighbor! The other change is that I was called to be an STL, or sister training leader. I don't exactly know all the responsibilities to that, but I'm excited to learn! But from what I do know, I will be in charge of helping all the sisters in the zone, as well as I'm the surrounding zones, so Gridley and Redding. I'll get to go on exchanges with some of them and work with the Zone Leaders to help our zone improve! It'll be a good opportunity!!

But yeah that was my week, más o menos. I hope you have a great week! I pray for you guys!! Love you so much and miss you!
