My new address is 111 fourth St Apt B, Orland, CA 95963, and you can send packages. It's kinda sketch, but not bad. Similar to Gridley.
Well this week was a lot of traveling. I was in Gridley on Tuesday, and was rally sad to be leasing my hermanas... It will be weird to not see them all every day... It's OK cause good things are still to come! So I spent most of the day with the sisters in Orland, Sister Howell and sister Abbott. They are going yo be our neighbors, so we'll spend a lot of time with them. But that's OK cause they are super awesome!! We hang out at their house quite a bit, and it's a good time. Last night we had our own Christmas party where we made gingerbread houses. It was a good time. Frosting everywhere!
But then on Wednesday, I went down to Roseville, which was like 2 hour drive... it was so weird to be there tho, cause it was not what I had lived in for the past 5 months... and because of that I felt so out of place. Like, I wanted to be back with my Mexicans in the orchards. But sadly no... but that's OK cause it was a fun day. We got some food and then I was in a trio for the night and we were biking! This biking experience was a lot better, cause everything was super close and the bikes actually worked. But that was a fun day.
Then Thursday came!! I got to pick up my new greenie! Hermana Carter!! I was super excited! But it wasn't a surprise that I was training her, because she was the only Spanish speaking coming in, and I was the only Spanish speaker training. So that was a fun time. We spent most of the day in meetings and then we had to drive another 2 hours back up to Orland... I was not used to all that driving. It was weird. But I need to get used to it, cause there is a LOT of driving in the area that I am in. Like every day we have about at least an hour of drive time, which makes it hard... But we're figuring it out.
It has been weird to start up a new area though. I just feel like I have no idea where I am going, who I am taking to, or what needs to be done. so it's kinda been in a constant state of confusion. But I'm slowly figuring it out. I just feel bad for Hermana Carter, cause idk what I'm doing but she is watching me to see what I do. #fakeittillyoumakeit
But we have met a lot of different people and they are all super awesome and kind!! And very open to helping the missionaries in whatever we need! It's great! Like one night, we went over to an older couple to meet them, the Sutherlands, and they had a Spanish family there and they introduced us and it was so cool! So kinda like that, everyone is so great! And I have actually been able to use my Spanish more than I thought. I feel like it's even gotten a little better since I've been here. Which doesn't make much sense cause I have only been here for a little bit... But hey I won't complain!
But it's been a good week. I'm excited to meet all the rest of the people here! I'm excited to get to know Hermana Carter better too! She seems kinda quite, so hopefully I can help to break her out of her shell a bit. It's just so much funner when you're goood friends with you're companion.
Something we are working on right now though is the Light the World initiative. It is to help put Christ back in Christmas! So each week we try to do different things. This week is "Light the Community" so we're inviting people to serve those around them to help light them as Christ lights each of us! So that has been fun to do that.
But it's been a good week! A busy pday... so sorry this is gettin gout so late... But I love and miss you!! have a great week!!
