Week 15 Gridley CA

Hey Mom!!

This week seemed to go by super fast! And I can't believe it is already November! that's so crazy!

But to start the week, I went on exchanges on Tuesday! I went up to Chico, again, but this time I went to an English area, so that was different. I was companions with Sister Thueson for the day, and it was a great time! I even got to teach her some Spanish which was fun! It's kinda crazy though just the difference in the people we worked with there to the people I work with in Gridley. Not only in the people, but also the places we went. Like, there are some NICE houses up in Chico. And I'm used to being in trailer parks and tiny little back neighborhoods. My Spanish peeps. Gotta love them... But it was a good time! Hermna Feveryear served in that area before she was with me, so it was cool to meet some of the people she had been talking about for so long! But that was a good exchange! I'm always sad to go away from my area though, because I feel like I miss out on so much...

But then Wednesday was Halloween!! It was a fun time. We had a district counsel that morning, so we all dressed up in costumes for that. Hermana Feveryear and I were witches. It was a good time. A member made the capes for us. It was super sweet of her... I just love how kind and giving everyone is! It makes me want to be like that in return! But because it was Halloween, we all went in early. So we were back in the house at like 6, when usually we don't go home till 9. So that was kinda weird to have nothing to do. We just kinda chatted and had a good chill night. We also had some trick or treaters come by which was super fun! Hermana Petonio and I got super excited to give out candy to them. It was Hermana Petonio's first Halloween, so that was super fun for her! But it was a good night!

The rest of the week was pretty regular though. We started working more with this one guy names Paul, and he is awesome. He is SUPER kind, and he seems to be very interested and excited to learn! But we got there, and he started making us food again! He made us hamburgers and it was super kind of him! The only problem was that we just had dinner, so we were already full... but he was super kind and he is a nice guy! Again, there are so many nice people!! I love it!!

There was one cool thing I learned in my studies this week I want to share. So I was reading in the Book of Mormon, and it was talking about miracles. It was talking about how God is unchanging, so he will continue to bless his children, or us, and continue to preform miracles. It talked about how the only way that miracles would ever stop is because of the lack of faith by us, or because of our unbelief. I had read this before, but it really made me think about that. Heavenly Father always wants to bless us and help us, so he will help us in all the ways he can. However, sometimes because of our lack of faith, we don't always see those miracles in our lives. I know that sometimes I take things for granted. So this was a good reminder to me to look for miracles in my life, and look for those times that Heavenly Father's hand is in my life. And I really liked that, so I thought I'd share :)

And now for some short random stories!!

First off, DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!! SO NICE!!! Gotta love that extra hour of sleep. I felt so awake and had so much sleep that I was just so awake all day. It was crazy. But also way nice. The only problem with that is it gets dark way early now... and a lot of the Spanish people go to bed with the sun, so it makes it hard to find more people. But it will work out.

Another funny story. Well, it's not really funny but I tried guava for the first time! It has a very strong smell... But they aren't too bad! They are a lot smaller than I thought they would be though. But they were interesting. We also got alot of kiwis, which are way good!!

And one more story. The best one, I think. So last night I was waxing parts of my face, cause you know, hair grows. so I was getting the place between my hairline and my eyebrow, and then some of the wax dripped onto my eyebrow... So then I was really scared, cause I didn't want like one brow to be different than the other. That would just be awkward... But don't worry, cause I ended up getting it off, and only a bit of my eyebrow was gone. Good thing I have thick eyebrows... But yeah, that was the story of how I almost waxed off my eyebrow. Good times.

But it was another good week! Again, I can't believe it is already November! That means it is almost CHRISTMAS!!!! But we still have some time before then. But anyway I hope your week is spectacular! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Love you!! Miss you!!
