Week 9 Gridley CA

Hey Mom!!

That story about Becca is so cool!! It was really hard to leave everyone at night and I was like low-key freaking out up till the point I left. But once you get out here everyone is just so loving and kind and they take you in like family. That, and I know that Heavenly Father has helped me to not be homesick. Like I know I'm out here doing the right thing, and I miss you guys, but it's ok. But that's cool to hear that story and I'm glad I could help :) You'll have to let me know when she gets her mission call!!

Also, I've been chatting with Emily Nelson a bit, and that's been fun! By chatting I mean sending an email once a week, but it's been good she heads our of the MTC on Tuesday I think! And Jake is there, and Madi is getting there next Wednesday, so basically all of dtown is out and about! So that's cool.

Well this week was a good week, but not too eventful. It honestly just flew by and I don't even really remember what happened...

First off, this week it was pretty warm. usually its like in the 80s, but this week it was back in the 90s... just in time for fall, right? So it's been a bit hot lately, but that's not too bad. I'll be complaining when it gets cold. But I don't think it'll get too cold, but who knows.

We also found out we are loosing our car in 2 weeks. the other hermanas and us are going to have to share a car. It won't be too bad, but we'll be on bikes at times. Which is weird, cause usually sister missionaries are the last to loose their cars, and foreign language missionaries usually don't too. But we are Spanish speaking sisters who lost our car... so that's pretty crazy. But it'll be fun a little. I'll get some killer get muscles! and I'll be able to eat more cause I'll be doing more, right? All about the food... :) But that was some crazy news. It'll be weird to bike around in a skirt but hopefully that won't be to bad.

Also, this was kinda weird, but maybe it's just cause I'm a missionary... idk, I'm gonna share anyway. But we had a lot of weird encounters this week... so as missionaries, we are supposed to talk with everyone. so me and Sister Feveryear have been working on that, but we met some interesting people this week... like 3 different times it happened where we went up to talk to some guys, but every time it was like weird...  they were un poco creepy, and tried to flirt with 2 twenty year old girls. Not a fan... so we did our best to leave those situations while still being kind. One of the perks of being a sister missionary I guess...maybe I'll just start wearing a trash bag so we don't have those problems. No one wants to talk to a trash bag, right?

But other than that it was a good week. again, not too much going on. On Sunday we had a good lesson in relief society, the class with the women in the church. It was about love and how we can share God's love with others. She gave us a week challenge for loving others, and I'd like to invite you to do it as well. The things are simple, but it's a good reminder to remember to show love for others :)

Here is is:
day 1: show patience for someone
day 2: resist the urge to criticize someone or a circumstance
day 3: give thanks when someone does something for you
day 4: pray for someone who is going through a hard time
day 5: give a compliment to people around you
day 6: forgive someone who has done something to you
day 7: give service to someone you don't know

We had more Mexican food this week, so my belly is now good and happy and full of Mexican food. Also, we talked with some of the members about Mexico's day of independence which was September 16, and it looks SOOOOOCOOL!!!! Like I want to go to Mexico during their Independence day. it is on the bucket list.

But yeah that was most of the week! We got to visit a lot of the members and the people we were teaching this week. The people here are great. It's crazy to think about all these people I would not have known had I not gone on a mission! And I've only been out for like 3 months! But it's been a good time :)

Well I love and miss you and I hope you have an amazing week!!
