Hey!!
Rough week.... I hope you all feel better! Its probs cause it's getting colder now... I'll pray for you guys!!
This was a crazy week for sure... to start out, we had exchanges! So Hermana Andrew came to Colusa!! It was great to be her companion again, even if it was just for the day. She is a great missionary and friend and she has a lot of love! But the night after we exchanged back, we were all in bed and then the phone went off and it was our mission president. He told us that Hermana Carter was getting emergency transferred to Loma Rica, which is like just over an hour from Colusa. So we dropped her off on Friday, and it was sad to say goodbye... she is one of my good friends. but she is still in the zone, so I will see her again for zone preparation day as well as zone conference. But now we are back to a duo companionship.
The highlight of the week was probably a lesson with Clemente and Laura. They are just the best. First off, last week we dropped off some cookies for them (good old American treats). So when we got there Clemente made us hot chocolate! Abuelita! So it was the best. He also got us some Halloween candy and separated out the chocolate cause he knew that's what I like, haha! But then Miros, the 6 year old, came running in with a white something in her hand. And she came over and sat it down on my lap. It looked like a soft something, and then it started moving... so I grabbed it before the bird flew away! So I was sitting there holding a bird, and I was just very confused. But she was soft and cute! Her name was Hermosa. But that poor bird was getting thrown around everywhere... 6 year olds are not the softest with birds. But then Miro went into the other room with her bird while we had our lesson. And then in the middle of the lesson, we hear Miros scream, and ran in saying "hizo popo en mi brazo!" (she pooped on my arm!) and came in with her arm in the air running to the kitchen to wash it off. it was very funny. I died.
But aside from all that, the lesson was great! Both Clemente and Laura understand the importance of church and they know it has blessed their lives. Clemente is working on getting off on Sunday to devote the day to God. But for right now he was just able to get off an hour to go to church and come back. and not only that, but Clemente's sister, Teresa who lives in Mexico, is also going back to church! She asked for Sundays off when she heard her mom and brother were going to church more. So it was way cool to see how really they are doing this as a family! That is the way it should be! It is the way that God wants it to be! So yeah, that was a huge highlight :)
But we had a lot of good things happen this week. We found 3 people. One is a lady who was taught by missionaries when she lived in Guatemala. She said that one of the missionaries was from Spain, and the other was from Pennsylvania!! So I asked their name (probably I wouldn't know who that is, but I tried) and she said his name was "Elder." I just kinda chuckled. Cause apparently every male missionary's name is Elder. We also had the Juarez back at church for the first time in a month, which was awesome! And we got to talk with their dad, which is something that we have been working on for a bit! Once he says yes, then they can get baptized!!
There is supposed to be a cold front coming in, but we got our heater fixed again so hopefully we are prepared. Probably not... but can layer on the socks!! We have also been listening to Christmas music a lot, and it makes me super excited! I kinda feel like I get 2 Christmases this year. One a month from today, and then actual Christmas. It will be fun!
Thanks for writing me! I love hearing about your week! love you!!
