Hey Mom!!
Wow sounds like you had a busy week! Its cool to hear you re meeting up with peeps! And it's kinda funny to see that they fall through for you too... not funny, but it's just kinda cool to see we're kinda doing a similar thing. The sad part is that people do cancel on us... But it's always fun when we do get to meet up with us!
Oh my gosh Lathen is gonna be one of those dinosaurs??? I'm so jealous!!! I've always loved those!! You'll have to send me some pics! What is Lilly gonna be? Also those pictures of Lilly and Lathen were cute! They're both very twiggy, haha.
That is funny what you said about dad and the candy corn! He secretly loves me. :) But candy corns are the best!
But it was a good week! First off, yesterday we found out transfers and I'm staying in Gridley with Hermana Feveryear! We're excited about That! And the other two Hermanas are staying in the house with us, so the fiesta house lives on!! I'm happy about sticking around! But we also got our car back! So now we're back to 2 cars. We tried the car share, but it just did not work. We weren't getting as much work done. We could have made it work, but we are trying to build up the area, so that's hard with the size of our area and only one car. So that's nice! But I still don't get to drive... I was really hoping I would be the designated driver this transfer, but I guess not... maybe one day I will. It's been so long since I've driven and I miss it SO much...
We were talking about this next transfer though, and our goal is to be super diligent. The work is kinda slowing down right now, and we need to find more people to teach. So we talked and decided our goal is to just use all the time we have towards missionary work, and just be really dedicated and consecrated in our work. We know that as we do this we will be able to see more miracles and help so many more people. So I'm excited for this next transfer!
But anyways this past week... We'll not too much happened. Wait, actually on Thursday we had exchanges! I went up to Chico with Hermana Rich for the day! It was really fun!! Sister Rich is super Awesome! And I got to meet some other Hermanas too which was fun! They were English sisters, but I guess that's ok... ok they were so Awesome! We all talked for quite a bit that night which was fun! It's just kinda like I was hanging out with old friends, even tho I didn't know them very well. That's honestly the coolest part of the mission. All the cool people I meet. Missionaries, and people. They're all so Awesome! But we also got some good missionary work done that day! We found some cool people and got to teach this one guy who was super excited to hear more about our message and it was Awesome! His name was Ernesto, and he was way cool. Also, while on exchanges I found out that I'm spoiled... at home in Gridley, I have a double mattress and it is like sleeping on a cloud. So when I was up in Chico and had to sleep on a single mattress, I didn't sleep as well... basically I'm princess and the pea. But yeah exchanges were fun! Hopefully I'll be able be companions with Hermana rRch! Funny story about her, I actually met her while I was in Mexico! My first day of the mtc she was there. So, it is cool to be with her and hang out with her. She is really fun and easy to get along with and a hard worker!
Also this week, we got to have dinner with the Bagley family! They are a little less active, so we're trying to be their friends to help them come back. But oh my gosh sister Bagley is so awesome!! She is SO much fun! Like I feel like we just laughed the entire time and it was awesome!! They are a fun family! And their daughters play the violin, so they played a little for us and it was fun! It made me miss playing the violin... it's been so long... and also their oldest daughter is 10 and she reminds me of Lilly. She loves animals and reading and the way she talked just reminded me of her. it's fun to find and make those connections.
And to finish the week, we had Wendy's baptism!! It was super awesome!! Her family was all there and the spirit was there and we were all just so happy for her! The only thing was it started 40 minutes late... gotta love the Spanish time. But she was baptized and that's what matters. I'm super happy for Wendy though! She's super awesome, and I know this will bless her life so much!
But it was a good week! There are 2 funny kinda things that happened this week, or that I've noticed more I guess. but the first is that I have found I have gotten really good at reading expressions. Sometimes I am too tired to do Spanish, but I still gotta talk to people. My brain says no, but my missionary brain says suck it up and be nice. So when that happens, I kinda just like read their expressions. So I have no idea what they are saying some of the time, but I just kinda laugh along with them, or if I see they get serious, I act more serious. I realize this is a bad habit, but sometimes i just can't. But i promise I still listen to people and do the best I can to love them.
The other funny thing was that we were all looking at our journals and comparing how we write in them. Cause like every night I write in my journal, and some of the other hermanas do too. so we were looking at how we write in them. Hermana Petonio is super poetic and deep and it's like so pretty to listen to. And then Hermana Feveryear is a little more casual. and then there was me... I just kinda sound super casual and the things I write about are like not super relevant. Like i always write about food, and they thought that was funny. So sorry that you are stuck with my way of writing. Please don't hate me.
But it was a good week! Ijust passed 4 months this past week, and there is still so much left I have to do, so good thing I have the time for it!!
I hope you're week is killer.
Love and miss you!
Kiley
