Hey mom!!
And along with the amazing people here, here's a cool story. So Saturday was a rough day. Just really long and a lot of people cancelled on us, and Sister Fuller was not feeling well. So we went home and got ready for bed, and then sister Pratt and Angelina (someone else in the ward) came over to bring us cinnabuns out of nowhere. It was really cool, cause it was exactly what was needed. It's cool to see that our heavenly father is watching out for us always and he knows what we need.
This week we also got to go to an activity with the youth in the Spanish ward which was really fun! We had pizza and a spiritual message, and then played... card games!!! It was just spoons, but it was super fun. This is the longest I've gone without playing a card game, and it has been killing me... But my competitive side came out a bit and I was starting to trash talk some of the youth, but they dished it back and it was a good time. But that was fun to play games, but also be able to connect with the youth. I've found that I always enjoy myself more when I'm loving the people and connecting with them, so I try to do that as much as I can.
And then the highlight of the week was yesterday. President Oaks came to visit us!! He is one of the apostles that oversees the church worldwide, and it was so cool to have him here. In the Mormon world, thats the equivalent of meeting a huge movie star. And we got to shake his hand, and he talked to us for like 2 hours and it was so awesome. You could feel the love in the room. Like I can't even explain how I felt, but it was such a cool experience. He talked to us about our Mission purpose and how we can grow our testimonies and share that with others. It was a really cool experience. He's like 85, but still looks really healthy. He was also cracking jokes up there while he talked to us. It was just all around amazing. And there were only like 80 of us that met him, so it was personal and small and really awesome!
But yeah the week was good! It's still super hot and smokey, but we're not burning. Our air conditioner broke this week though, so its been pretty warm in the house... we have some fans bur they're mostly just blowing around hot air so hopefully that gets fixed soon. And Apparently there is west Nile disease going around with the mosquitoes, and I just got a ton of mosquito bites last night, so hopefully I can avoid that but last night I also learned how to say weed in Spanish, so I'm in the in crowd.
But yeah it was another good week! We are busy just about all day meeting with people. I don't use Spanish all the time, so I'm still struggling with that a bit, but it's getting better! It's at least getting easier to understand people. But Cali is good!
I love to hear from you! I think about my peeps from home daily, but I'm also loving it out here! Miss you!

I love you so much!!
Sounds like you've been having a fun week! The girlscout trip actually sounded pretty fun! You got to do a long of things and hang out with good friends which is always a great time! And the pictures were all super fun!! I can't believe you saw dolphins... that would be so awesome!! But also I'm gonna have to try that 5th best ice cream sometime.
And I'm glad you finally got the postcards! Nic's will probs be coming in like a month then. And I can't believe you guys are still having bun around if he's being a biting bunny. And that's cool you guys have Sisters again! It's like I'm there, but not really cause I'm a lot better. (In a nice way...)
And about my phone... we called samsung, and I had to send it in to them to get it fixed. It arrived today, and they said it would take 9-11 business days to fix. They also might need the receipt from when we bought it, so if you could maybe find that and send it to me just in case. And as far as other stuff goes, you can just send me the actual recipes. That'll be easier, cause I don't have a printer. And also if you send something could you please send my razor? I left it in the shower... It had a set face on it. And maybe a couple of my t-shirts and some leggings if they aren't packed away. I did not account for morning workouts when I packed... and as far as scriptures go, blue is good. And I don't need my name on them, cause the case I have has my name on it. I'll have to send you a picture of it some time.
But it was another good week! I've been out 2 months officially! I'm meeting a ton of new people in the branch and getting yo know them better which is always fun. There are two families that I really love so far. The first is the Pratt family. They aren't Mexican, but they come to the Spanish Branch to help out. They have 7 kids, but only their last two are there, but it kinda reminds me of my family which is always fun. And they're just really nice, fun, caring people and they're great. We had dinner with them 3 times this past week... haha whoops! But that was fun. And the other family is the Cejas. They moved here from Mexico a while back, but they're super fun. They're an set couple, so it's just Sister Ceja, Brother Ceja, and their granddaughter Selina. Sister Ceja talks super fast, so I catch like half of what she says, but it's always super fun whenever we go over There! And she makes THE BEST food. We got her beans recipe, so We'll let you know how that goes. I also want to learn to make tortillas. There are plenty of sisters here that would love to help me with that so hopefully when I get back I can make some pretty killer Mexican food. But they all tell me that I'm too skinny and that I need to be "bien gordita" which is kinda funny. I've been told thus multiple times, so if I come back chubby it's not my fault.
