Week 2 at the CCM

Here is how my week went:

Hermana Jensen said that someone told her that at the CCM the weeks feel like days and the days feel like weeks, and it is so true. The weeks flies by, but I´m still having a good time here!

last pday we went to the temple, and it was way awesome. It looks like it was modeled after like Aztec structure on the outside, as well as on the inside decorations. But it was way cool and super pretty. We did an endowment session, and it was all in Spanish, and I actually understood a good part of it. It helped that I knew what was going on though. I was sad to not go with you though, because every time I go to the temple it has been with you. but it was a great experience! it just made pday last week busy cause it took up so much time. But it was cool to leave the city and see Mexico city more.

This week we also started working out more, Hermana Jensen and I. We would run and then do my core workout. It was funny cause during the planks we would recite the Spanish scriptures we had memorized. Hermana Jensen was wrecked the next day though. She was feeling it in her abs, but she was also grateful. The next day we also did it, but there were more hermanas that joined, and so it was like I was teaching my own mini class. It was pretty funny, and also a lot of fun. I like workin gout. And we´ve gotten to do it quite a few times.

The language is also still going well. I´m working on my tenses, and it is getting better, but it still needs work. Ive found though that I have gotten really good at understanding what other people are saying. Like I can understand or at least get the gist of whatever our teachers are saying, and that is a blessing. But also something kinda funny is that the people in my district all think I´m like amazing at Spanish. So whenever they need something last minute to do in Spanish, they´ll ask me. So it´s flattering, but also a little more work for me, but that´s ok. I love it! And last night there was a Latina hermana trying to talk to someone in English on the phone, but it wasn't working, so the hermanas went and go time to translate for them cause I could go Spanish to English pretty well. SO that was cool, and fun to do. Translating is weird though. Like I want to respond in one language, but then i have to switch it to the other. But I was able to help out which was good.

I also had my first breakdown on  Saturday... Idk what it was. First off I was tired, so then you know it´s gonna be bad. But Hermana J was sick, so she went to bed early and so I could just cry by myself which was good. It was just a long day and I was frustrated with Spanish a bit, but I didn't want to complain to Hermana J cause she was sick and way behind me in the language, so I didn't feel I had room to complain. So I just got a good cry out, and prayed to Heavenly Father, and I was able to feel comfort and peace, and it was really good. It was also bound to happen at some point.

Ok, now for random things that I think are fun/funny and I want to share.

First, I tried papaya. It was weird. I don't like it. the texture is weird, and i couldn't get past that. But it was fun to try.

second, its crazy cause we´re always hearing loud bangs and noises from outside the CCM. Like firework kind of things that low key sound like gunshots. they happen pretty often, especially on weekends. another thing that happens on weeks is that the city is partying, so they are all playing loud music and you can hear it in the CCM. this weekend there was some Enrique Iglesias playing, and so that was way fun to listen to a bit. Hermana Jensen and I both love the Spanish music.

Next, this week has been a lot less rainy which is nice. We´ve actually been able to enjoy the outside Mexico air. But we knew it wouldn't last... last night there was a crazy storm, but Hermana Jensen and I had to go back to our casa cause we forgot something, and when we got there we were soaked... like my skirt was dripping wet and i woke up this morning and my shoes are still soaked. it was pretty crazy, but it was also a fun story.

also, apparently i talk in my sleep? Hermana Jensen says that she sometimes hears me saying random things, which is kinda funny. but one of the hermanas in our district also talked in her sleep and she said "Yo estoy feliz!" and that was super funny. and along the lines of sleep, i have been having weird dreams ever since I've gotten here. Like every night too. Its kinda exciting though cause I never know whats gonna happen. like the other night i got to join the avengers and save the world from a zombie apocalypse. So kinda weird, but also kinda fun.

but yeah I´m still having a great time down here! I love hanging out with my district! we´re like a little family. and we are also the oldest in our branch, which is kinda weird. We have to pretend like we know what we´re doing. But honestly its like I get to hang out with my friends all day and learn about the gospel and learn Spanish, so its pretty great!

I love hearing about whats going on and getting pictures! its like i´m still a part of fam bam! Love you so much!!!
